ICEMAN Cold Air Install
ICEMAN Cold Air Install
The “ICEMAN” cold air was picked for two reasons, price and more important it put the intake further away from the “hot” engine. Wrapping was later put on the intake hose to further reduce the intake temperature. The black “hose” was quite hot to the touch before it was wrapped. I did not have any way of measuring the intake temp at this time but the wrapping had to help.

Stock, sort of.
A MSD Coil, Wires, and a heat shield were previously added. It was too easy to do and I didn’t think it warranted its own entry or photos.
Battery and stock air box removed.
A good picture of the Solenoids, just incase I unplugged hoses. At this point I had no idea what they really did.
The ICEMAN tray mounted.
I machined a hole in the tray and mounted the solenoids to the bottom of it.
Slit a piece of fuel line and put it over the brake line to prevent chafing to the air intake “hose”.
I found that a heat shrink gun could be used to heat the “rigid” solenoid hoses and bend them to the new shape required for the new position of the solenoids.
The finished Install, below. Remember to position the ground cable as shown or it will hit the hood.
